About Lonsdale House

Step into history at Lonsdale House, a Grade II "listed" property with origins dating back to the 1650s. Our design team has skilfully woven modern luxury into the charm of the past, restoring traditional features to create a distinct and memorable experience.

The property features original bay windows, beautiful ceiling cornices, and a "Secret" walled garden, which is perfect for a glass of wine, picnic or evening meal.   Each Apartment comes complete with modern kitchen with high-quality appliances and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits.

In the basement, you'll find storage for walking boots, bikes or kayaks, great for anyone seeking to explore the Lake District and local area.  Guests are also able to use our laundry area equipped with washing and drying facilities.

Historic Restoration

Between 2021-2023, our owner embarked on a significant renovation journey, working with local architects, carpenters, builders and restoration experts to restore the historic cornices, architraves and windows throughout the property. Our goal was to breathe life back into the building's architectural character.  The dedication of countless local craftsmen is woven into the fabric of Lonsdale House, and we thank them all for their enormous effort!  Scroll through the photos below for more!
