Looking for something a little more special on the edge of the Lake District? Cartmel is our Suite in Ulverston, in the Grade II listed Georgian townhouse that is Lonsdale House, and it is a lovely choice for an anniversary, a romantic break or simply a treat. It has a double bed and a sofa bed, and sleeps up to 3.
Cartmel is set over two floors, which gives it the feel of a little home of your own, with a bedroom sitting area for quiet evenings. Inside you'll find a full kitchen, a walk-in shower, high-speed Wi-Fi and a workspace, so it suits a work trip as well as a weekend away. The mattresses are new (September 2026), and we leave tea and coffee from Farrer's of Kendal for your first cuppa. There is a Nespresso machine too.
You can relax in our private walled "Secret Garden", and with self check-in from 3pm you can settle in at your own pace. Pay and display parking is available very close by.
When you visit, Cartmel village and L'Enclume are around 15 minutes by car, and Ulverston's cafes, pubs and the Laurel and Hardy Museum are a short walk away.
