Lonsdale House is a relaxed base for a family break on the edge of the Lake District. Instead of squeezing into a hotel room, you'll have your own apartment with a kitchenette, a walk-in shower, a Smart TV and free WiFi, right in the heart of Ulverston.

Our family apartments

• Windermere, our largest apartment, with two bedrooms for up to 4 guests and views of our Secret Garden. It's on the ground floor with step-free access.
• Helvellyn, for up to 5 guests, with a separate bedroom, a dining area and a spacious lounge with a second double bed and a sofa bed.
• Keswick and Derwent, two apartments that link together through private interconnecting doors, so a larger family or group of up to 6 can stay side by side, each with their own kitchenette and shower.

Made for families

Baby high chairs are available, and the kitchenettes mean you can cook on your own schedule, with no rushing to restaurant bookings with tired little ones. All our guests are welcome to use our walled Secret Garden, a peaceful enclosed space to sit out in when you're back from a day of exploring.

Days out with children

The Laurel and Hardy Museum is just a short walk away, and the climb up Hoad Hill to the Sir John Barrow Monument is a great first adventure for little legs. The flat walk along the Ulverston Canal to Canal Foot is ideal with a pushchair, and Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are an easy drive away for boat trips and lakeside days.
