Looking for a comfortable place to stay in Ulverston, with a little more space than a hotel room? Lonsdale House is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the heart of the town, with parts dating back to the 1600s. Inside are 13 self-catering apartments, each with its own kitchen and bathroom, so you can come and go as you please and enjoy your stay at your own pace.
We're at 11 Daltongate, just a short walk from the shops, cafés and pubs of the town centre, and a lovely base for exploring the Lake District, Morecambe Bay and the South Lakes.

Self-catering gives you the freedom to make yourself at home. Have a lazy breakfast, cook with local produce from the town's butchers and markets, or simply head out and enjoy one of Ulverston's lovely cafés and restaurants. With your own space, it's perfect for a short break, a longer holiday or a work trip.

Four of our apartments are dog-friendly (Coniston, Ambleside, Ullswater and Derwent), so four-legged family members are welcome too. It's £10 per dog per night, and a small welcome pack will be waiting for your dog when you arrive.

Windermere and Helvellyn are our family apartments, with room for four and five. Cots and high chairs are available free of charge, just let us know in advance so we can have them ready.

We're just 15 minutes from Barrow, and lots of our guests stay with us for work. Every apartment has a workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi, invoices are provided, and for stays of 5 nights or more we offer a free mid-stay clean on request.

With 13 apartments sleeping up to 42 guests, you can book the whole house for a wedding, family celebration or group get-together, with a lovely walled garden to relax in.

There are public car parks opposite and just a 90-second walk away. They're paid during the day and free in the evenings from 6pm to 8am. Ulverston railway station is a short walk away.
